Choosing the Right Tags and Labels for Your Commercial Laundry

Commercial Laundry Tags

Our Guide to Choosing the Right Industrial Laundry Labels

Why Laundry Tags Matter in Commercial Operations

Commercial laundries work on large scales, processing textiles in high volumes for businesses and organisations rather than households. Instead of a few loads per week, they handle thousands of items each day, from hotel bed linen and restaurant tablecloths to hospital scrubs and industrial workwear.

And because of the high textile traffic going through a commercial laundry, clear and accurate identification and tracking is essential, which is where durable commercial laundry tags and labels play a crucial role.

Laundry identification tags help to prevent linen loss or mix-ups, track inventory for individual customers, and improve accountability and workflow – and with a more streamlined workflow, there are cost savings too!

Choosing the Right Type of Laundry Tag

Here at Bluepoint Tags & Labels, we’ve found that the vast majority of our commercial laundry clients choose self-tie labels, also known as loop lock tags, for their laundry identification.

Self-tie labels simply loop around an object, such as a laundry cage or a laundry bag handle, without the need for strings, wires or adhesives. You simply loop the label around your chosen object, thread it through its own cut-out, and the label securely locks into place. Removal is just as simple and hassle-free!

We offer our loop lock laundry labels in a range of materials, commonly in PolyTech20, PrinPlas15 or EcoTech15.

PolyTech20 is the go-to material for ultimate durability – it’s a high-density polyethylene and comes on roll form for thermal transfer printing. You can also write on it by hand using a permanent marker pen. Our PolyTech20 self-tie laundry labels come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, with a range of colours available for clear batch and day identification.

For full-colour printing, typically using a colour laser printer such as the OKI C650, choose our PrinPlas15 range. A polyester-based product, PrinPlas15 loop lock labels are supplied in sheet form for full-colour, on-demand printing, and are available in a range of shapes and sizes.

And for the Eco-minded laundry, we’ve developed our EcoTech15 material – a sustainably-sourced, paper-based material from FSC certified sources, tried and tested by several of our commercial laundry clients. And further to this, these paper tags for laundry are industrially biodegradable and compostable in accordance with EN13432.

All our labels are recyclable where suitable facilities exist, so whatever material you choose, you can make sure you play your part in the circular economy.
